Letter to the national security services and Law and order enforcers.

Fallen UPDF Combatant

Dear ,
Our gallant brothers and sisters in the Army , other security institution and the law and order enforcement teams.
This is my humble and compassionate plea to you to defy the “status quo” who have turned you into an instrument of brutality against your very own kin and kith, we continually hear rumors that you are equally demoralized of being beckoned as “dogs of war” by Uganda leaders.

Dear service men for how long will you be in constant alert? you have been in the war front since 1986, don't you aspire for a normal life like other citizens were you will not spend eternity in the fronts???... these regime leaders have been constantly seeking for you war ,if there is none in Uganda your bosses find you some in Congo, Somalia, Rwanda, Sudan , Kenya, Central Africa Republic,South Sudan and now they propose to dispatch you over 5000 km away in the treacherous territory of Boko Haram.

How much more can you persevere this egoistic motivation and experimental deployments in the far fling corners of Africa my dear brothers and sisters??? we have no business creating war or enmity with our peaceful neighbors or even fighting proxy wars for the western world.
Why don't we borrow a leaf from our brothers of TZ whose only involvement are as a peaceful force ,they went to eastern Congo flushed out M23 within 6 month but for UPDF its 8 years in Somalia equal amount in either DRC or CAR.
The commander in chief has engaged you in yet another incursion to secure his pet boy Salva Kiir in South Sudan, initially he promised us a rapid mission but ever since UPDF has become an occupational force killing citizens of South Sudan.
We are advocating for the security services to join the wanaichi to peacefully defy the regime and refuse further deployment into foreign wars,it may not be of knowledge to you that your allowances and fat checks from this foreign missions are being slashed and shared by the high military hierarchy.
The explains why when your duty is completed they return you back to barracks ,humilated ,disarmed and disengaged from further duty because your bosses fear you will mutiny due to under payment and in some cases the money in your accounts do not reflect to the payslips you have.
Therefore its not incidental that you are detained on return including the causality victims who are disposed off in Mubende with little help. Some of your comrades who have died in line of duty never get mentioned because your bosses want to keep receiving their salaries and that means their respective families have no knowledge that their sons have passed on.
Can you imagine your commanders upto this day have sturbornly refused to account to us the wanainchi who pay your salaries? They are silent on what rate of casualities in all these war eng agements? Therefore most of your fallen comrades get secretly dumped in mass graves or they fabricate tribal conflict like in Kasese to conceal your fallen comrades as victims of tribal clashes and hurriedly burried in mass graves.
Contrary to what information you recieve ,your wives and children are better off being in the war front with you. They have left helpless and are dieing daily in numbers from treatable diseases here ,because the govt that should watch after their welfare is busy embezzling and allocating the money to pay off politicians and fund their luxury retreats all over the world ,while you are dieing to preserve them in their position of wealth.
Therefore we the wanainchi will continue with our activities of peaceful demonstration for the good of this country which you the servicemen have a vested interest in, do not look at us as your enemy our struggles are your gains for example, war free army , live a normal life so you can raise a family other than being in the front, improving your living conditions, voluntary retirement with full pension and have a choice to pursue other careers a part from the army among other things.

To conclude this plea ,I call upon you the rank and file and commissioned officers to dig deep down your hearts and I pray you hid to these advices and spare your fellow citizens to peacefully demand real change in democracy, equitable distribution of resources country wide and have sectarian free government .
When these issues are attained may be some of you will in merit be promoted other than being son of some big shot.

LONG LIVE UGANDA AND OUR BROTHERS IN THE ARMY AND POLICE, FOR GOD AND OUR COUNTRY.
