Time we secede from the rest of confusion.

Time we secede from the rest of confusion.

We urge all our leaders to agitate for secession from the confusion emanating from other parts of Uganda and form an independent country called Nile State. The regime has perpetually marginalized us for 3 decades through:

War that they imposed on the people of Northern Uganda:

The majority of former UNLA soldiers also heeded the appeal made by the government to hand over their arms and demobilize. NRA began to commit human rights abuses in the name of crushing a nascent rebellion. Over time NRA soldiers plundered the area and committed atrocities, including rape, abductions, confiscation of livestock, killing of unarmed civilians, and the destruction of granaries, schools, hospitals and bore holes escalated. These atrocities in region were justified by some as revenge for the ‘skulls of Luwero’.During this period, the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA), which was perceived by Acholi refugees as an ally of the Museveni government, attacked a refugee camp in southern Sudan

 Famine and displacement of northerners:

The horrific and prolonged consequences of this war have devastated the society – a society that has been reduced to ‘displaced camps’, where people languish without assistance and protection. The war has also destroyed the culture and social fabric of the society. Large numbers of orphans, who fend for themselves, illustrate this tragedy.

Wide spread disease failure to adequately address the “nodding disease”.

At the same time, diseases like Cholera, Ebola and Aids spread due to lacking hygiene and crowded conditions in the camps. At the height of the conflict 1.8 million people lived in such camps and roughly 1,000 of them were dying each week.

Land grabbing allocate Amuru District land to investors for sugarcane growing.

Destabilizing north through war in South Sudan.

Museveni regime has been funding the war up north of Uganda for decades and the effects of this war incidentally is felt by the people of the northern region, many times Sudanese Air force bombed territories in the North.

Detoriation of infrastructure northern Uganda is like South Sudan in terms of poor infrastructure, and a sick education system, and yet the donor funds have been swindled by the Office of the Prime Minister. At infrastructure, education, health and development makes it seem as though Northern Uganda is part of Southern Sudan.

The North had of the best education standard and referral hospital but since 1986 standards have been on a downward trend.

We have resources from Adjumani to Karamoja like:

  •  Oil
  •  Rich minerals
  •  Fertile agricultural land
  •  Wild life

With these resources we can fight for self-determination and it is our right to secede, since it’s economically viable to support our republic, we have trading partners as in DRC, South Sudan and Kenya in the region.

We are tired of cajoling a system that marginalizes us the whole region has 3 full time cabinet ministers and it’s a region that is desperate for reconstruction and economic development after decades of war.

Fellow Nilotics, does it not bother you when our 2 progressive sons who are party leaders are shunned at the national scene? Self determination is a process,Baganda will soon throw the spanner in the works when the quest for federal status becomes a ugly contest and what will be left of our region?. There has not been any political will to have a government driven reemergence of the northern giant instead our daughters are disgracefully kneeling to beg to be ruled for life.

Nilotics are naturally very smart and tolerant people , however it comes to a point when no should be no.We can't carry on tying our children like goats on trees and pretend govt is doing something, if 3 decades of policies designed to bring the region to her knees is not enough, so let our daughters continue to beg to be ruled on our behalf on their knees.

Its seems we simply don't get it.

Paga Gloria Its long overdue,we poor fiercely ravaged souls should quit and let this bulky regime of Uganda collapse on its own weight.

Bugembe Leo Mathias Long over due.
Nankunda Hilda As if you agree. Mind the innocent 😇 lives in that region.

Nick Lukwiya · I suggest we start as a Federal state, then semi autonomous, to Autonomous region and finally a Republic. This will give us enough time to practice true democracy.
Nankunda Hilda · Will you take Moses Ali and others who have spoilt things for years with you?
Patrick Wathum · to my fellow youths in UG pliz, make da best use of dis relative peaceful moment in UG 2 do productive work 4 ur own.
Guma Andrea we let go of these disillusioned lot and start a life for ourselves.

Eyoga Vincent · can I laugh? how can you plan something against some body in his presence? let's day dream and fall back to reality. this should have happened many years ago. just to think about it now! I think we need something else. west Nile country from Pakwach? Hehehehehe, #pakakumakya, where are u?

Patrick Wathum · Don't listen da empty promises of new jobs, gud infrastructure bla bla bla. jst workhard 4 ur own.

Janet Nyeko · Let's start with Acholi Republic (AR) with hq in Pece Acoyo. Hilda you can keep Moses Ali and the like, in your republic.
Pa Abili Codomoi Don't post things out of excitements. Only post something you are ready to commit and walk the miles to.

How much did cessation help Southern Sudan?

Santo Ojara ,Is it the size of Rwanda or Burundi?

Robert Kizito Ojok Gabriel, I wish I could like your comment a dozen times, Unfortunately FB doesn't offer me that luxury. It's a total waste of time by the way and the fruits we will end up ripping will linger in the neighbourhoods of war, sliding down the development scale, 2-3 more lost generations and the perfect opportunity to be manipulated. Let your NOOOOOOs be heard for this never to happen.

Pa Abili Codomoi Janet Nyeko Acholi Republic is too Acholitical and I don't think Karamojong, Teso and other tribes would look at it Kindly. Even the name Nile sound like an extract from Homer, doesnt beat loud bells in the ears of wannainchi.

CopyAnd Paste · Definately it can be possible given the fact that northern Uganda is the gateway to Central and Northen Africa. i wish it is done

Janet Nyeko ·
I was trying to tell you that what you are suggesting is a waste of time and will only lead to more demands and fracturisation. Uganda is our country and we should build it to the best of our ability. If you don't like the way it is being run, do something about and don't just run away.

Harry Okura
I don't buy the secession. we are totally landlocked with poor infrastructure. look at USA b4 u start making noise.

Robert Ogen · Am for it

George Mukalu ·

Acholi overthrew their real brother and kinsman Obote, how do they expect to unite with other

Margaret Nanyonga · Acholi has had no confusion I suppose! Obote, Idi, Korny all causing havoc and all from these regions!!!

Abby Mukono Moses you have a point i my self agree with you

Pa Abili Codomoi Faisal Kirunda Nkutu, you are looking a the whole thing narrowly. Southern Sudan will always be different from Northern Uganda, because (1) we are more intelligent and the art of leadership is in our court, (2) we are more experienced and blessed with good proven work ethics than Salva Kir and Museveni loy combined. (3) the will to succeed and make our people better is overwhelming.

Mike Nek ·
I strongly disagree and it will never happen . People of Uganda , lovely name lovely people beautiful country will have to push hard to get another Party with acceptable long-term programmes/projects into POWER TO THE PEOPLE and start fighting Ignoranc...See More

Emmanuel A Aremo It's time for Ugandans to liberate themselves from thier dictatorship! hahaha

Simon Okech #Mukalu zero your argument on the issue raised by the very fellow who posted what he feel like posting, BUT don't raise issues concerning tribe here less you have some problems with Acholis as a tribe, Acholi did no overthrew the Government of Obote, but rather the UNLA who overthrew the Government. UNLA was not Acholis Army BUT a National Army. So stop that Nonsense.

Azoli Bahati · we shld promote One Uganda, its good for all the regions to continue as one entity

Faisal Kirunda Nkutu · Pa Abili Codomoi I am among those who respects the oratory skills , stamina and charisma emanating from there. But sadly Obote 1 was brought down by a region mate just as Obote 2. That gives you a glimpse of the likely implosion. I would rather more emphasis is placed on the regions economic growth

Or is their concern only for northern Ugandans? What can they do without strategy with neighboring countries?
George Akendi .Guys wake up the area inquestion might support itself economically but still need al the othre parts of the country called Uganda. I have been around for sometime in the region. What we have in the north eg the developments in Lira was not put there by...See More

guns available if peaceful means doesn't yield success

Kalokwera Pamela African problem solve by African solution

Paulo Nsibuka Luswata · Long ter. Solution for this colonial condition called Uganda is to accept our differences rather than try and Bury them and the I lay way to do this is have federal system of ,Guys stop being childish, what is the mail issues on the ground????, even Rome was not built in one day. Lets be serious and get down to work than sit and begin to raise such unforeseen or thought ideas, things are beginning to take shape and what we need is get out there and get every bit that our hands land on, we should not let these outdated politicians to begin confusing us because they have now seen what is coming around and they are worried 2016 will see them off. They have run out of ideas now that Kony is almost gone and no any other campaign language to use!! The roads are now being sorted out and with good roads all the others will follow suit..........So please STOP such misleading ideas and talk sensible things. Uganda is for us all and it will remain ours for ever and ever!

Charles Nyeko DeMabior One day, there will be a Nile Republic or whichever name. But it will come. And it will be in our times. Not after we are dead; our times!

CopyAnd Paste · This is not actually a nonsense and we wish it is done. Unless otherwise you are never in that region
