The field report from the hotly contested administrative Ayod indicates there has been a series of altercation for the past few days,its evident by the fact of UPDF current build up in Jonglei state. UPDF and Spla juba troops in their latest attempt to strike a decisive blow on the freedom fighters as resulted into consequential loss of both equipments and personnel.
Yesterday in act of madness ...the Juba soldiers and 200 or so UPDF moved out of thier fortified barracks in pursuit of territorial expansion in area controlled by SPLA-IO in operation code named "catch the rebel" in Ayod county in Jonglie. In act of misfortune they ended up losing half of the barrack with two tanks destroyed and six military textures blown up in the first three hours battle on Wednesday midday.
Among the captured weapons and destroyed items include:
35 UPDF light guns machines were found by freedom fighters and several SPLA other AK47.
Ammunitions dump and food store destroyed
Two tanks put out of service
8 Amoured personnel carriers destroyed
350 something wounded on government side and 200 dead
30 UPDF soldiers are feared dead and their guns were collected, the latest is they have withdrawn towards Kuach a village near Dukpadiet.
Reports from northern Uganda confirms UPDF has been rearming with equipments and personnel.
