Senior OG throws in the towel

Senior OG resigns

Sincerely some rural english teacher could have drafted a letter befiting the status of The First Lady, minister and honorable member of parliament?

Its a disbelief for an official letter to constituents to be constructed in such a format.

I am meant to understand that she has 300 support staffs at her disposal

Read her full statement

The people of Ruhaama my friends The Leaders, Ladies and Gentlemen, The Youth and all you who are listening to me I greet you all in love and thank you for the work you do on a daily basis.

I thank you so much because of the evident work that you do in food production, feeding your families well and income generating projects.

I know that now many of the homes have some income and that is evident in the modern homes that have come up.

Above all I thank God who has enabled you to do this work. Now, friends, what I want to say to you today is something I have been thinking and praying about for some time.

I have sought God’s guidance and assurance about it. Therefore I now have no doubt at all in my mind that this is what God intended for me in this season; that in the coming elections of 2016, I will not offer myself as a candidate for Ruhaama Constituency Parliamentary seat.

However, for now, I am still serving until the end of my term. Therefore, I would like you to stay calm because I am still here, but I want you all to know that I will not stand in 2016.

It was important for me that you do not hear it as a rumour, I wanted to give you this information personally and this is what I have done.

It is my prayer that God grants you peace and blessings always. My plea is that you understand me and accept this message with grace. I want us to remain united and together pray for Ruhaama during the coming elections. I also pray that Ruhaama will stay peaceful so that we continue to develop our area as we have been doing.

If your are familiar with any of the RR languages, you would have realised that like Prof Ngugi wa Thiongo, the speech was originally drafted in a different language altogether and then translated. Cudoes to our First Lady for supporting our local dialects. No pan intended.

  • Robert Tumwesigye Dear first lady ,i appreciate your God guided decision to step down 2016. Am not a constituent of Ruhama but Kiruhura. i think the two hold a special status since they are presided over by two senior citizens - you & him. Am not so sure whether these are your own words becoz facebookers can do anything with any information .But if these are truly your own words , i do welcome your resignation with open hands. In the years that passed , you told the pipo that God had asked you to represent the pipo of Ruhama. Pipo listened and you carried the day. My party man Augustine Ruzindana lost. But i also know that some were coerced and beaten by your husband,s special forces. All that culminated into victory. thanks be to God who requested you to do that representative work even if it meant beating pipo to get there. if God has talked again ,this time to end your services and retire you gracefully , then its ok. its God who appoints and demotes. He chose Joshua to replace moses. David replaced saul. Elisha replaced Elijah. samuel replaced priest Eli.the list is long. But the bottomline is' leadership comes & goes. there is always a replacement. thats God's way of doing things.

That aside , i take this initiative to ask you a few questions. you acquired your constituency seat just recently , but your husband , the president has been sitting for the last 29 years. what makes you think it is good for you to retire and not him ?
You say you are a born again together with your daughters. Why cant you preach/ request His excellency to follow your and the examples above , about service and retirement ?
Why cant the same God who speaks to you also speak to him ? is he not a prayerful man ? too preoccupied with matters of the state ?

Why am i bothering you with endless questions ? Becoz i have never had a chance to speak to any of you the first family and i wud not exert myself following your rigid security procedures to visit you. yet i always have a point to make. But never mind am comfortable living in my own hut. Not every one will live in a palace. But my interest is not in physical interaction but to make my point. And am satisfied that am making one now. Even if i died the next day. i know your husband asked us not to talk about you but this sacrifice i make today , informed of the fact that we are all God's pipo and Ugandan citizens. i think if i andthe rest were non existent then you wud not be called first day.nor wud your husband who is forcing us not to talk about you be called president. A king's greatness depends on how many pipo he rules, me inclussive !

Isee you better placed to tell His excellency to retire gracefully. 30 years is really long time for one to the deliver.
To tell him so doesnot mean we dont love him. Ugandans love their president and we appreciate his contributions to this country only that the years have become too many.
we are afraid that all the good developments the president did , could be destroyed by his own hands eg peace. He is the only one who holds the keys to the war store or room. if he chose to destroy us indeed he wud but he wud have taken away the same peace he says he brought.

We must come to agree that govt work or projects can never get finished since they are recurrent. Roads willbe dug but they will always grow old & need to be repaired. health centres will be built by you but they will always need to be stocked & restocked with medicine. even some drugs expire ' new diseases come up that were once unknown ! schools will always be built & children will always be born to join them .even their numbers will increase. there is no end to that.

Even if he ruled for 50 years , still ugandas problems wud continue to increase becoz govt work never gets finished. so the excuse that he is consolidating his achievements , is not a genuine one !

Lastly , dont think all those who talk to you shyly and obediently , love you. The RDCs the advisors who never advise your majority Mps in parliament etc.they dont. if they did , they wud have told you long ago to retire.

Also dont be tempted to think that all those who send harsh messages ob face book or radios hate you. May be they lack better words to use but they are trying to make a point. they are trying to say
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. BOTH IN THE INTEREST OF U & ALL UGANDANS.

Lastly again. IF THE PRESIDENT HAS CHOSEN NOT TO STEP ASIDE , THEN LET HIM GIVE US ELECTORAL REFORMS WE NEED. LET THE GAME BE FREE & FAIR. EVERY SPORTS MAN MUST PLAY BY THE RULES. THIS IS THE ONLY LAST WE MAKE OF U.

I SAY THESE THINGS AS A CONCERNED CITIZEN & IF ANYTHING HAPPENED , THEN THEN KIRUHURA ,MY /OUR DISTRICT WUD BE THE FIRST TO SUFFER. AND WHAT WUD I HAVE TO ANSWER ? I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT YOUR NRM. AND DONT BRAND ME A TERRORIST SINCE THAT IS YOUR NEW TERMINOLOGY NOW. AM ONLY AS HUMAN AS U. I ONLY WARN OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF OVERSTAYING IN POWER. U WELL KNOW THAT. I NEED NOT LECTURE U ON THAT.

LASTLY , PEOPLES SONS & DAUGHTERS ARE DIEING BECOZ OF THE BRUTAL POLICE CALLED UGANDA POLICE AND COMMANDED BY YOUR.....PLIZ AS A MOTHER , LOOK INTO THAT. MOTHERS HAVE MERCY.WHY THEY DIE IS BECOZ U PROMISED THEM GOOD LIFE BUT THEY HAVE NOT SEEN IT. THEY ARE DEMANDING IT NOW. THOSE WHO DONOT KNOW IT CALL US HOOLIGANS. BUT I KNOW WE ARE NOT
