Without a vision we perish.

When you don't have vision you're doomed to fail.
Dr. Kizza-Besigye

One of the remarkable quotes of president Wrn Kizza-Besigye in 2019 is " The reason we go to school is to learn from the experience of others".

Let me put this into the perspective ,in a struggle of any kind  of recognition be it, dignity, human rights, political freedom and identity. Its not ironical that in history every front of human liberation struggle began as a united movement but as the struggle grinds on, ideological cracks begin to emerge within the movement. Why? Because we are human, we agree, we disagree we want to dominate, we are competitive animals etc.

In this frontier of liberation only one thing stands out which separates the chickens from the eagles and that thing is VISION. That is why I have precisely started with the message the theme of vision . In the bible there is a verse which says " without vision people perish" .

Just like any struggle anywhere against oppression there are vision bearers, these are your torch lifters leading a team and sustaining the struggle towards a ultimate goal. It means everything objective achieved is leading the team towards the main goal.

Dr. Martin Luthearack Obam

Let me draw parallels with the civil rights movement in the USA, Dr.Martin Luther King and Dr. Luis Farrakhan were on the same team in the path of fighting for the rights of the black people in America. But along the lines there  developed visionary strategic  contradictions amongst them.

Dr. Martin Luther King vision was to have a united America were blacks and whites would peacefully coexist for generations to come, a vision where some  black man would occupy the white house. To Dr. Luis Farrakhan this was to ambitious and unachievable, his ideology was reactionary and lacked vision, basically he wanted to establish a separate nation of black people that is why he started the nation of Islam group.

Dr. Luis Farrakhan despised the strategy of Dr.Martin Luther King  he dismissed the non violent approach as being moderate and it would prolong the mistreatment of black people infact he fell short of branding Dr. Martin Luther King as an agent of the white people. Therefore, Dr. Luis Farrakhan took a more militant and radical approach, they had a wing of the black panther which advocated for use of violence. The weakness in us human beings is that we have a tendency of responding to messages that directly appeal to our emotions which was carefully used by Dr. Luis Farrakhan, he recruited many disgruntled black youth into the movement, they became aggressive militant ,radicalized like Malcolm X they switched religious beliefs many became muslims, Muhammad Ali and many more. Now to me he simply played for short term gains but he didn't envision what this ideology was to plague people of color for many years to come. Many were assassinated, many were incarcerated, many were expelled exiled etc.
Dr. Luis Farrakhan

Now in Uganda we also observe the same split in school of thought, many have falsely accused Dr.Kizza Besigye of being an agent of the extension of Museveni 50 year master plan ,why because they don't believe that his ideology of non violent approach to change is meant to change the regime but it is only to continue with the regime.  I find this comparison disrespectful, disturbing, disgusting and very offensive. The people who promote this kind of stuff are actually the ones derailing the vision of Dr. Besigye and that vision is Ugandans to regain their power, Uganda to develop a tradition of peaceful handover of power, Ugandans to remove power from gun wielding men and return it to the civilian.
Therefore, they will use all sorts of ugly descriptions including tribal sentiments to forment hate towards Dr. Besigye but thank God he has people who will defend him and his vision and I proudly happen to be one of them  not any amount of malice will detract me and others from achieving this vision. So those pedestrian talk of people power our power is worthless without a vision at the tip of it.

Let me oscillate back to the American civil liberties struggle, one JZ artists lyrics says "Martin Luther King walked so Obama could run".

Dr.Martin Luther King & Barack Obama

Now that was the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King achieved but for the reactionary Dr. Luis Farrakhan he is still alive and fighting without achieving any of his dreams.

So ,its accurate to say Dr. Besigye is instrumental in making many of us to begin running because he started the walk and that walk is destained to continue until the vision is accomplished. For those who are inpatient let your end not be prematurely concluded like the likes of Malcolm X ,Steve Biko etc who ran ahead of themselves. I advise my brothers and sisters from the central to not be consumed by hate and ambition of proving superior to other Ugandans because this mentality will risk the union of Uganda.

So ,I conclude by posing the same question,do you want to follow a visionary like Dr.Martin Luther King or a reactionary like Dr. Luis Farrakhan?

The struggle continues!
