Weapons of Mass Democracy

If your not ready for a fight you will die a slave
Responsibility is the prize for greatness,we as citizens of Uganda agitating for change need to emulate Dr.Kizza Besigye ,here is a man who has unsellfishely put his entire life and family on line for we to have democratic Uganda.
We need change but change is not just wished or received on a silver platter ,we have to rise up and enforce it .Untill we collectively take to oppose the corrupt system the change we desire will forever remain an illusion to us.
As it is said " the value of your future is determined by the price you will pay to enforce it". Do we Ugandans want to remain slaves to the system?...For me at least is a NO NO NO!!!
Ugandans are discontented with the system and its our burden to transform it to a catalyst for change.

Weapons of Mass Democracy

Nonviolent movements have toppled dictators of all political persuasions from all over the globe. The power of nonviolent movements to overcome a military regime seems to turn all conventional wisdom about power and security on its head. Instead of power deriving from the guns and tanks and jet bombers and missiles of the military, power derives from the people.
If the common people withdraw their cooperation and resist the powers that be with determination and resourcefulness and courage, they have shown repeatedly in history that “people power” can make even the most powerful regime fail. It was nuns praying the rosary in front of the regime’s tanks, and the millions of others who brought down a dictatotship in Philipines, why can't we Ugandans replicate this?.nonviolent action “is the most powerful political tool available to challenge oppression.”
The risk here Uganda is the middle class and elite who have resigned and coopted to leave in hand to mouth life. The educated class have the perception that financial independence is the only means of securing a livelyhood. They forget that the class is heavily burdened through taxes, choking with high interest loans ,increasingly high cost of living while salaries have remained the same.
We are basically burying our heads in the sand ,while exposing our rears, defering a problem solves nothing if we took to the streets for 2 weeks in mass and you may supprised that all corporate bodies will support the movement including the security forces.
The bottom line is do you not feel burdened by failure at the top leadership? Are we as a nation feel secure
