Equatoria region leadership infighting resolved.

Press release.
Office of the chairman.

In a just received information extended to Political Crime desk from  Nyarji Jermlili Roman, the Deputy Spokesperson in office of Chairman of SPLM/A Dr. Riek Machar. The statement says that there were some elements interested to trigger a serious rift by promoting intrigue and infighting between the leaders of SPLM/A –IO ranks who hail from Equatoria region. Previously, information has been circulating around of the reported defection of Gen. Alfred Lado Gore who is the deputy chairman of the movement, however this has been discovered to be the machination of a few members within the ranks who are interested in causing disharmony in the movement due to old grudges.
Therefore among other tasks for the chairman of SPLM/A and C-in-C, Dr.Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon to resolve in Nairobi was to manage this conflict brewing among the comrades based in Nairobi, as it was reported on the 21st June 2015, Some senior members of SPLM/A from Equatoria region presented a letter of protest requesting the chairman of SPLM/A to immediately relieve the following sons of Equatoria region from their various posts within the movement namely:
1. Gen.Alfred Lado Gore, the deputy chairman of SPLM/A.
2. Cde.Hassan Ramdhan Lako, the chief coordinator in the office of the chairman.
3. Cde.Adel Sandri SPLM/A representative to Republic of Kenya-Nairobi.
The authors of the letter demanded the trio be dismissed from SPLM/A revolutionary movement and investigations be carried out over them that allege they have secret links with the Juba regime, the letter accuses the trio of secretly contacting Juba government officials:
In the meeting convened and chaired by the chairman of SPLM/An on 22- 23, June 2015 in Nairobi-Kenya, to respond to this allegation, it was resolved as followed:

First and foremost the existence of a group referred to as “Equatoria caucus” is not legal within SPLM/A rules, regulations and businesses. It’s the Equatoria caucus that wrote a letter to the chairman to request for the dismissal and further demanded investigations to be carried out against the three Equatoria leaders; Gen.Lado, cde.Hassan and cde.Adel.
The ruling by the chairman is that, any step taken by leaders of Equatoria within SPLM/A and those in the government has to be approved and directly supervised by his office. The chairman went further to say the call made by some members of Equatoria within SPLM/A that the deputy chairman Gen.Alfred Lado Gore, Chief coordinator in office of the chairman Cde.Hassan Lako and Cde.Adel Sandri the SPLM/A representative to the Republic of Kenya be dismissed and then investigated is baseless and should be considered as an ordinary misunderstanding between our members which is not a representation of our people.
The Equatoria leaders in their meeting with chairman of SPLM/A and his deputy also resolved that what had happened was just a misunderstanding within the leaders of Equatoria in SPLM/A. They all agreed with one voice that old grudges and differences among them should not undermine the progress the movement has achieved so far in its fight to meet the desired goals of: The visions for durable and sustainable peace in South Sudan. The mission to reconstruct a state that its people enjoy freedom and equality in a federal and democratic government.
Both chairman, Dr.Riek Machar Teny and his deputy, Gen.Alfred Lado Gore were elected into office through Nasir consultative conference in Nasir town April 2014, therefore, for this fact; the removal of SPLM/A 's deputy chairman Gen.Alfred Lado Gore is above and beyond the level of Equatoria caucus in the SPLM/A revolutionary movement.
In another discussed item in the leadership meeting of SPLM/A held in Nairobi, the leadership council also secured the important document signed by both Equatria leaders within SPLM/A and those in the Juba government that it will be supporting the forthcoming IGAD PLUS peace negotiations in ADDIS ABABA , to enact and/or apply ''federalism'' as system of governance in the government of South Sudan during the transitional period.
